Equality is a state in which every person is given equal rights, opportunities, and ways of living. Gender equality means giving equal chances to both males and females in political, economic, education, and various other basic aspects. God has created all individuals without any discrimination. But unfortunately, we humans have made our standard of living and behaving with others. All the members of a society have their own importance whether they are men or women, black or white, they have their own unique existence. However, it is a general observation that there is a lot of discrimination between human beings. These discriminations usually persist because of social differences, cultural differences, geographical differences, etc. Even in this modern era, men and women do not enjoy equal privileges.

Women Suited More For Baby-making Or Money-making

It is often said that women’s chief role is to give birth to children and raise them than making money. How ridiculous it sounds today, but these types of myths are not based on any scientific evidence- a decision driven by our ancestors for generations. Even today, all over the world girls and women have fought bravely against these types of commonly held beliefs and views that usually limit their potential and possibilities. The reality is that around the world women are capable economic agents, beating relentless gender-based restrictions every day.

Gender equality is Good for Everyone

When the issue of gender equality is coming to a discussion, it is uncommon if someone says, what about the men? Gender equality has been difficult to achieve because of the belief that if we give women equal or more rights and liberty, somehow we take some rights away from men. But in reality, gender equality is good for everybody. In fact, in many countries of the world where women are allowed equal education and equal earning strength, men even don’t shoulder the burden of life alone. Even shutting gender differences, will ultimately increase global GDP. A recent report of Mckinsey Global Institute shows that if females play an indistinguishable role in labor markets equal to males, almost $28 trillion or 26% would be added to the world annual GDP by 2025. Now that’s exactly the payoff we all can get behind.

“If Women are expected to do the same work as men, we

must teach them the same things.

The difference in gender Male and Female in the Past

Discrimination between men and women is almost from the past. These differences are usually based on customs, traditions, culture, and religion also, which most often impairment to women. Women’s status was sequestered and she was given a relatively lower position in society. She was generally regarded as a dull, sentimental silly creature. Shakespeare addressed her as ‘Frailty’ and some other famous writer portrayed her as a treacherous creature that excites men to their fate. In fact, reality is highly cruel to women as their lives have been kept invisible to the world. Men are considered more important in the past because they are leaders of the house and decision-makers. Only because they are expected strong, brave, and perform better than women.

Unpaid Worker of The Society

It is said that women choose to work less than men. But in actuality, women’s shoulders carry a greater burden of unpaid work and they also have fewer chances of paid work and remain unregistered. Now it is the time to balance the scales. Women don’t work less than men, in reality, they often work more than men. But unfortunately, their work usually remained unpaid. It is a myth that inequality comes to an end when women’s income increases. Evidence shows that it is not only her increased income but rather hold over that income that helps her in achieving economic empowerment.

To end this discussion, it is right to say that equality between men and women is a real matter of human rights and social justice. We should promote fair treatment for every gender. Gender equality could only be achieved when men and women would be given equal rights and opportunities in every walk of life. Today’s women have decisively rejected the sentimental myth of “Frailty” which kept depicted her as men’s plaything and a purchasable commodity. In short, gender equality is the most crucial aspect of the overall growth and wellbeing of society and the globe.
